The BeginingMentor's R Us Inc. began in response to a radio program that discussed the plights of children and youth who were involved in gangs and in and out of jail. These youth were often raised by elderly grandparents, who loved them but were not prepared to deal with these issues. The young listener. Teresa German, wanted to do something about this problem so she sat up one night and devised a plan, and began to talk to her female friends. By 2007 Mentor's R Us was officially Incorporated. They decided to start a bi- weekly group mentoring program which began for girls 8-17.
As the Mentors continued to meet they bonded and showed a spirit of servitude. They helped build a home in Patterson, NJ. They walked to raise money for the Suicide Prevention. They cleaned homes for Hurricane Katrina Victims. They supported teens in the All Star Talent Show. They helped needy children make Valentine Art & Crafts at the Children Specialized Hospital. It was a great first chapter in New Jersey but, Mentor's R Us Inc. was eager to expand its Vision to another state. |

Mentor's R Us Inc. is excited to announce we are expanding to serve the Monroe County, PA Community. While it hasn't been an easy transition MRU. is inspired by its future goals and aspirations which are outlined below. While we were based in New Jersey we thought we had big Visions, but Now... we have ENORMOUS Vision and the confidence that these Visions will become a reality. Currently we are focused on believing in our long term vision, networking with our future partners, redesigning our approach, and engaging volunteers in our virtual world.

Inspiration+Employment= Changed lives. Its is our new Vision for MRU and we continue to include it into every part of our organization it will forever impact the people we serve.
Our future includes a "Community Vision Fest": This two-day community interactive event will give youth and adults the opportunity to engage with various industry insiders, entrepreneurs, and workers with significant view points to add to the event. The Community Vision Fest will be a two day event where the word WORK will be redefined. Participants will enjoy themselves with the music, food and comedy while hearing from key note speakers, playing games, dancing, and talking in a relaxed atmosphere about utilizing their best assets and achieving their goals. Employers, youth, educators, customers, business owners, etc. will be invited to participate. Current resumes will be encouraged for networking opportunities. Some Topics: Utilizing Your Best Assets to Achieve Your Goals; What we Expect from the Top (Management or Hiring Company); Should I enjoy my job? We also plan to have a "Youth Resort" with hands on life skill building activities, youth build projects(which conducted inside and outside the resort building), and a youth homeless shelter attached. The Youth Resort is designed for youth 15-23 from under-served populations and others not severed in the community. We will have other mentoring opportunities available through the Youth Resort. Because we started with a Mission to serve NJ we will bring other Mentees from NJ to us to this Youth Resort for Camps and other Mentoring activities. We also plan to have a Three Phase Permanent Affordable Housing Program that will now be based off of the Vision formula mentioned above.
